Current Research Summary

Graduate Student M.S. and Employee, Cornell University, Ithaca NY

I am currently conducting my M.S. research in the Natural Resources Department at Cornell University while in the Employee Degree program, under the guidance of Robert Howart and Patrick Sullivan. I am employed by Robert Howarth and Roxanne Marino in the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.

I am currently working primarily in West Falmouth Harbor on Cape Cod, on a project which was until recently funded by an NSF-Biogeochemistry and Environmental Biocomplexity Grant run jointly by principal investigators at Cornell, the University of Virginia, and the Ecosystem Center at the Marine Biological Laboratory: Robert Howarth, Roxanne Marino, Karen McGlathery, Peter Berg, Anne Giblin, and Ken Foreman. The work is currently being funded by the Woods Hole Sea Grant Program through 2011.

My primary interests are in assessing the role human impacts are having on coastal eutrophication and in utilizing spatial analysis and GIS as tools to better understand and interpret environmental data.
